Old houses are wonderful:
The driving force behind this website is our love of old houses,
and we set out to create a website which would provide free
practical information relating to their renovation, refurbishment
and improvement. The features, editorial, and photographs
on this website were put together by us, they are of real
projects we've undertaken, and we hope they will be of real
benefit to the DIY enthusiast.
We take a realistic approach to house restoration and improvement,
and to us this means working with very limited financial resources,
so we get our hands dirty, and only call in a professional
when its not practical for us to do the work ourselves (i.e.
like gas or major electrical work where safety standards are
involved).
Unbiased editorial: We
are not linked to any manufactures, nor are we looking to
sell DIY products. Our editorial is unbiased and independent,
so if in the house refurbishment process we come across a
product or service which is substandard, we'll report it as
such.
